What did you come out as? : Lesbian
What other words would you use to describe yourself? : Extroverted Eccentric. Shaman living the Light as best she can.
How old were you when you first realised your identity? : 8
How old were you when you first told someone? : 28!
Did you plan it? If so, how? : I had been in a relationship for some time and needed to share my joy with someone close
What made you choose that person to tell? : She is my best straight friend and would drop everything for Martina today ;)
Can you remember exactly what you said? : I said to her that she must realise that the person whom I call my “other” best friend was more than that and that we would like to share a bed the weekend we visited!!
How did you feel? : Happy and excited to TELL someone
What was the person’s reaction? : Happy,not suprised
What did they say? : LOL - she replied that when she met me a few months before even her hubby said to her “She aint straight”
What was your relationship with the person like afterwards? : Still very close
What’s it like now? : Awesome - the best being in my life as a friend. I can count on her
If you’ve been outed unwillingly, who did it? :

What were peoples’ reactions? :
If you’ve experienced homophobia etc, please give an example. : My X partners children were are the only people that have ever reacted negatively

Since coming out, how “out” are you with your friends? : all_out
What does being out mean to you? : Being able to be with my Lover in public and hold her hand. (my X was severely closeted)
What differences, if any, did your cultural background make to your experience of coming out? : None
What does the concept of the closet mean to you? : Being afraid of homophobic reactions
What advice would you give someone wanting to come out? : Choose someone who you are close to and take it from there
If you could do it all again, would you do it any differently? If so, how? : I would admit from being a teen that I am who I AM
