What other words would you use to describe yourself? : impulsive, arrogant, sensitive and too bloody emotional
How old were you when you first realised your identity? : 17
How old were you when you first told someone? : 19
Did you plan it? If so, how? : Not planned
What made you choose that person to tell? : I trusted her and she was my counsellor
Can you remember exactly what you said? : i think i like girls more than boys
How did you feel? : like a outcast so i drugged to take away the pain of being a reject and to deaden the feelings
What was the person’s reaction? : she hugged me and said it would be okay
What did they say? : she will help me understand
What was your relationship with the person like afterwards? : still friends today
What’s it like now? : i have accepted who i am and where i belong in the world
If you’ve been outed unwillingly, who did it? : my mother called me a lesbian in school, but i didnt know what the word meant
What happened? : my mother called me a lesbian in school, but i didnt know what the word meant
What were peoples’ reactions? :

Since coming out, how “out” are you at work? : all_out

Since coming out, how “out” are you with your friends? : all_out
What does being out mean to you? : having confidence in who you are and your place in the world
What differences, if any, did your cultural background make to your experience of coming out? : none, i was sent for “shock treatment” to cure me of my gayness, lost my friends from school but alot of them are more understanding now - thanks to facebook
What does the concept of the closet mean to you? : being true to oneself
What advice would you give someone wanting to come out? : take the bull by the horns and face your fear
If you could do it all again, would you do it any differently? If so, how? : i think it is a lot easier to come out now then twenty years ago, people are more tolerant and family more understanding
